Harper Grace - Month 7, 8 AND 9!

20lbs & 30" [3.19.14]

Harper is one busy little bee! She has mastered the art of crawling and now practices pulling up and standing.  She has developed many new opinions, likes & dislikes.  She's eating pretty much anything she can get her hands on.  She loves to play, especially with the "big" kids.

She doesn't like being held back, or strapped down (in the car seat, or on the changing table).  She wants to go-go-go - preferably naked!

She continues to love bath time, reading stories, independent & interactive play, "school" and sleeping in bed with mommy & daddy!

We just completed our first round of mommy/daddy and me swim lessons.  Harper did great - she's a natural!

Harper has EIGHT teeth! She is 99th percentile for height, 79th for weight, and 81st for head circumference.

5 Months Old ... and ALMOST 6 Months Old!

16lbs 9oz (on 11.14.13)

We have been keeping VERY busy with our little bundle of joy.  She is growing and changing so much.  She has definitely become her own little person over the past 2 months.  She is SO happy, some mornings she wakes up laughing and giggling with no one in the room! A lot has happened since my last post and rather than trying to remember what has happened when, I will just do a combo!

Harper was an Alligator for Halloween.  We spent the evening at Aunty Amie's with our friends Erika & James, watching Aunty hand out candy.  Harper wasn't a big fan of the costume because it was extra warm for indoors, but she left it on long enough to take some photos!

Nana came for a brief visit in the beginning of November for Harper's Baptism.  She babysat for our first evening away - dinner & drinks for Mommy's birthday!  Nana also made Harper's Baptismal gown, which turned out beautiful!

After Nana left, Harper sprouted a tooth ... and then ANOTHER! Both her front bottom teeth came in within a matter of two days.  She has since continued drooling and I wouldn't be surprised if we had another one - or two appear soon.

Harper's first solid was a frozen banana.  She has since tried avocado, broccoli, carrots, and jarred organic baby food puree in carrots, sweet potatoes, & mangoes.  She loves to eat, especially when feeding herself.  She continues to improve her swallowing skills and keeping the food in her mouth!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner at Grandpa Mark's with nearly the entire Miller clan.  Harper enjoyed all the cousin play time and the mashed potatoes!

Harper had the opportunity to try out her new swim suit at the hotel pool when the Boleak's traveled south for a basketball tournament.  The water was a little too chilly, so we just sat at watched the kids play.

In the past few weeks Harper has learned to sit unassisted.  She still occasionally tumbles over, but is really good about falling slowly and rolling so she doesn't get injured ;) She loves sitting and playing with her toys.

Last weekend we went to the Festival of Trees and saw Santa Clause.  Harper loved looking at all the decorated trees and watching the dancing performances.

We will be traveling to Florida for Christmas in the next few weeks, hopefully Harper does well on the plane ... It's going to be a lovely trip!

Harper Grace - 4 months old

October 19th 2013
15 lbs 15 oz
26.125"

I can't believe how fast time has flown and how quickly Harper has grown! Last night she did a complete 360 roll.  We (Harper and I) were both pretty impressed, even though I am sure she's been performing this maneuver at daycare for some time now.

Harper caught her first cold (and Bronchial Virus) this month and also started (what appears to be) teething.  Although she started sleeping through the night on a regular basis at 12 weeks, she has been up in the night the past few weeks.  We are just now trying to get back on schedule.

She is still such a happy, funny, smart, loving baby.  She loves school and all her friends.

We had our first visit to the pumpkin patch this month.  We picked out two GIANT pumpkins and rode the hayride with friends.

Harper has always been a chatty little girl, but started talking even more once she started school.  She loves talking in the morning and when we are changing her diaper and pretty much anytime she has someone or something to talk to!

She loves playing with her toys and throwing them away from her, but gets upset when they are all gone!

She loves sitting in her Bumbo, but after a while tries to escape!  She likes to play in her Jenny Jump Up doorway jumper, and floor activity jumper (anything where she can move) and is very independent.

12 weeks!

Exer-Saucer
Harper started "school" this week and has been doing well.  Since she is a breast fed, cloth diapered baby we (well, Momma) were kind of worried about all the challenges we'd be faced with.  The daycare has been doing a great job all around and Momma is starting to get the hang of pumping regularly.

Harper has been sleeping in her own room, through the night for the past few days.  We are fortunate to have a little girl that loves sleep as much as we do! She is always SO happy in the morning when she wakes up.

Last night, she rolled over for the first time!  She has been rolling onto her side for quite some time, but made it all the way over to her belly for the first time.

Harper is 7 weeks old!

Tummy time!
Harper is a great sleeper and has been sleeping up to 5 hours at a time through the night and is only up once to eat.  She had her first trip out in the ergo baby carrier today and she was very interested in looking at everything in the store! The rash on her face that started a couple weeks ago has finally cleared up!  She continues to be more interactive with us and enjoys sitting with and talking to us, as well as being read stories.

Baby Photos

My sister Kari's friend Leise did our amazing maternity photos for us and offered to take some shots of Harper once she arrived!  We went over to her house on July 14th for a photo shoot.
